We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Engineer. The posts are funded by EPSRC and are fixed-term for 3 years. You will contribute to research strands as part of EPSRC`s hub for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Nuclear environments.

This research relates to design of sensing, actuation, and infrastructure systems for robotic joints operating in extreme radiation environments. Work will include materials investigations, investigation into failure tolerance and dependability, design of radiation hard mechatronic systems, and application of alternative sensing schemes.

Knowledge skills and experience


Essential
.-PhD in related field
-Demonstrated aptitude for research
-Good understanding of mechatronic systems
-Excellent communication skills


Desirable
-Experience working with robotic systems
-Understanding of radiation transport physics
-Experience developing analysis software
-Professional Registration


Special requirements:
International travel to customer`s and collaborator`s sites may be required
