We have a dynamic, and highly motivated team of over 80 engineers, scientists and technicians devoted to building systems that perform tasks in some of the most extreme environments in the world. We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Engineer. The posts are funded by EPSRC and are fixed-term for 3 years. You will contribute to research strands as part of EPSRC`s hub for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Nuclear environments.

This work will include investigations around human-robot interaction including use of virtual and augmented reality to enhance human performance when remotely operating robotic systems, graphical user interface design, haptics, and developing technology for human-autonomy interaction.

Knowledge skills and experience


Essential
-PhD in related field
-Demonstrated aptitude for research
-Some experience in the field of Human-Robot Interaction
-Excellent communication skills
-Some demonstrable programming ability


Desirable
-Knowledge of challenges of human-autonomy interaction
-Graphical User Interface development experience
-Experience developing haptic systems
-Experience developing virtual and augmented reality systems


Special requirements:
International travel to customer`s and collaborator`s sites may be required

Selection Method(s):
