Are you an experienced and qualified Human Resources Business Partner with a background in mentoring and coaching managers? Are you an experienced Human Resources generalist with solid employment law knowledge and experience supporting change within complex environments?

The Human Resource team consists of c20 staff and is made up of specialist and generalists supporting managers and employees on topics such as employee relations, reward, learning and development, organisational development, recruitment and payroll.

We are seeking an HR Business Partner to work closely with UKAEA`s managers, employees and the Trade Union on matters relating to HR and people issues.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities include:

-Delivering the HR service in line with HR strategy, organisational strategies and objectives and to the appropriate standards/legislation.

-Coaching, mentoring and supporting people managers.

-Contributing to organisational strategy by ensuring that the people agenda is considered.

-Supporting long-term resource planning, talent management, capability planning and succession planning

-Identifying trends and issues and design initiatives (in conjunction with other HR professionals) to address these issues.

-Responsible for independently handling complex personal cases and tribunal management, ensuring that employee interests are supported and that business reputation is maintained.

-Analysis of organisational metrics or external information to advise management of emerging trends or changing best practise/legislation

-Devising and delivering training.

-Promoting and supporting diversity and inclusion

Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (the research arm of the UK Atomic Energy Authority), is one of the world`s leading fusion research laboratories. In addition, UKAEA is also growing a major fusion technology programme, focussing on key challenges facing future fusion power stations:
-Robotic maintenance at the Remote Application in Challenging Environments (RACE) facility
-Materials testing at the Materials Research Facility (MRF).
In addition, £86m has recently been secured for UKAEA to build two new centres of excellence in tritium fuel handling and component testing and validation, further cementing UKAEA leading role in this transformative new energy technology.

Knowledge skills and experience


Essential
-Significant experience as a HR Business Partner
-Mediation and coaching skills
-MCIPD or equivalent qualification
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to work independently
-Up-to-date employment law knowledge
-Excellent IT skills
-Commitment to equality and diversity


Special requirements:
