The Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE) is part of the UK Atomic Energy Authority and is one of the world`s leading fusion research laboratories. Our scientists and engineers are working with partners around the globe to develop fusion as a new source of clean energy for tomorrow`s power stations.

We are looking for an Apprentice training Scheme Coordinator to assist with the management and operation of the UKAEA Apprentice Training Scheme. The role would be responsible for co-ordinating the supervision of training placements for individual apprentices across the UKAEA site.

The successful candidate would work in collaboration with the existing Apprentice Scheme Coordinator, to input mainly on diversifying the existing scheme to comply with new public-sector target that 2.3% of employees embark on an apprenticeship each year. This would also involve liaising with training providers and advising and supporting UKAEA supervisors and apprentices.

Knowledge skills and experience


Essential
-A sound understanding of the `qualification system` required for the recruitment and delivery of Apprentice Training Scheme.
-Experience in supervising, mentoring and coaching others, previous experience of line management preferred but not essential
-Experience in administration and people management.
-An interest in developing young people
-Good communication skills and confidence to speak to small groups of apprentice candidates and their parents
-A team player who will be able to work closely with apprentice training manager and scheme coordinator, as well as supporting HR Learning and Development programmes


Desirable
-CIPD Level 3 is preferred but not essential - training option for this can be provided.
