Are you an experienced Secretary/administrator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills? Are you organised, good at prioritising tasks with excellent attention to detail?

We are seeking an experienced administrator to provide confidential, discrete and professional secretarial and administrative support to the JET Operations Department.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities include a wide variety of secretarial and administrative duties including:

-Organising one or more manager`s diaries, arranging travel, training courses, meetings, site visits, and a variety of other activities using the tools and systems provided.

-Co-ordinating email, written, and verbal communications and prioritising as appropriate.

-Co-ordinating, and may draft or proof read, correspondence for internal and external contacts. May prepare agendas and minutes of various meetings and committees either on or off-site as required. May monitor meeting outcome progress, identifying follow up actions needed.

-Providing accurate up-to-date information and maintaining records through the use of essential databases, spreadsheets and paper-based systems. Checking for accuracy, consistency, error, omissions, and resolving anomalies when identified. Following existing internal and external processes and adapting to new systems and processes in line with organisational development.

Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (the research arm of the UK Atomic Energy Authority) , is one of the world`s leading fusion research laboratories. In addition, UKAEA is also growing a major fusion technology programme, focussing on major challenges facing future fusion power stations :

In addition, £85m has recently been secured for UKAEA to build two new centres of excellence in tritium fuel handling and component testing and validation, further cementing UKAEA leading role in this transformative new energy technology.


Knowledge skills and experience


Essential
-Demonstrable administration experience
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
-Excellent computer skills with the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite, including Sharepoint.
-Proven ability to cope with multiple tasks and prioritise appropriately
-Discrete and professional approach
