Are you an IT Professional with substantial knowledge and industry experience working on Microsoft Windows System Administration?

The UK Atomic Energy Authority have an excellent opportunity for an assistant Microsoft Windows administrator to join their growing team within the IT department. The team currently consists of 3 members (comprising the senior section leader, a senior administrator and an assistant) who are responsible for managing the site-wide Microsoft based office computing and storage systems which has about 1300 users.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities include:

-Assisting with the day-to-day running of the MS Windows office-based systems

-1st and 2nd level support for resolving user queries and problems

-Assisting managing Office 365 and other cloud based systems

-Development and maintenance of MS Windows server installations

-Manage (create, change, and disable) user accounts as required

The UKAEA hosts and manages the JET nuclear fusion energy experiment on behalf of the EU and is also home to the UK`s MAST-U fusion energy experiment. UKAEA also works with industry and other third parties to develop new technologies currently in Remote Handling and Materials research. Following recent UK funding two new centres of excellence in tritium fuel handling and component testing and validation are being built. Knowledge skills and experience

-A good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Windows Server technology

-A good working knowledge of Microsoft file and print share systems

-A good working knowledge of PowerShell and other scripting languages

-Experience with user and computer account administration in Active Directory.

-Experience with Microsoft System Center, Data Protection Manager and Configuration Manager

-An excellent working knowledge of written and spoken English

-Experience of network monitoring systems (e.g. Zabbix, Nagios)

-Experience of web-page content management and development

-An understanding of basic networking technology

-An understanding of software engineering processes and best practises
