This is an excellent opportunity to join UKAEA`s Accommodation & Administration Group. We aim to deliver solutions to enable UKAEA staff to focus on their jobs.

We are looking for someone to work primarily in telecoms support and management and milestones administration areas of our work. This role requires enthusiasm, initiative and attention to detail. Training on the telephone system will be given however an ability to understand technical concepts.

-To be responsible for the UKAEA telephone system day to day
-To manage first line response to queries and fault reporting, triaging queries, solving issues, where necessary identifying relevant party and referring to them.
-To be pro-active in identifying telecoms issues working independently and with full responsibility to resolve and bring to satisfactory conclusion.
-To produce bespoke reports to provide data required for ongoing and project related telecoms work.
-To receive monthly telecoms billing, scrutinise and send queries to the supplier and pursue to satisfactory conclusion. To ensure that supplier`s records are consistent with those of the Authority.
-To manage and maintain the Authority`s telecoms database, ensuring information is readily accessible and searchable and contains all aspects of required data.
-To be the lead Administrator for the VoIP telephone system.
-To be the lead Administrator for the PSTN telephone system.
-To act as first line support and manager of the JET milestones.

The UKAEA hosts and manages the JET nuclear fusion energy experiment on behalf of the EU and is also home to the UK`s MAST-U fusion energy experiment. UKAEA also works with industry and other third parties to develop new technologies currently in Remote Handling and Materials research. Following recent UK funding two new centres of excellence in tritium fuel handling and component testing and validation are being built. Knowledge skills and experience


Essential
-Substantial administration skills and experience.
-Excellent attention to detail
-Good problem solving and analytical skills
-The postholder is required to be proactive and motivated.
-Effective communicator, both written and orally, with all levels of Authority staff and with external customers.
-A flexible attitude to their work and enthusiasm to undertake such tasks as are allocated by management.
-Organised and able to prioritise
-GCSEs or equivalent in relevant subjects.


Desirable
-Experience of working with or managing telecoms is highly desirable
-Experience of successfully maintaining control of and progress of a high number of concurrent tasks.
-Excellent computer skills with competence in using the Microsoft Office Suite
